Peri-op MI has
a higher mortality
- often silent
- or presents with cardiogenic shock, acute dysrhythmia, pulmonary
oedema or cardiac arrest.
--> Have a high index of
suspicion, particularly in the high-risk pt.
While waiting for the physician
Attend to ABCs
Make your pt comfortable with an opiate and antiemetic
Give high-flow O2
Give GTN
Arrange ECG and blds
