BIOLOGICAL BEHAVIOUR
Pathophysiology
Could be caused by occlusion of the internal carotid, middle cerebral, or
anterior cerebral.
i) Two of three components of the TACI.
OR ii) Focal higher cerebral dysfunction alone.
OR iii) unilateral motor/ sensory deficit not as big as expected by a lacunar infarct (e.g. isolated hand involvement).
NB: isolated homonymous hemianopia is usually caused by occlusion of a posterior
cerebral artery.

MANIFESTATIONS
Two of three components of the TACI syndrome.
OR focal higher cerebral dysfunction alone.
OR unilateral motor/ sensory deficit which is more restricted than a lacunar
infarct alone (e.g. isolated hand involvement).
